May 21, 2024Ex. Community Feeder School in Rapoka
Deep in the heart of Pakistan's Soon Valley lies the village of Rapoka. Here, 32 students at the Ex. Community Feeder School face a daily struggle – a lack of electricity. This makes learning after sunset nearly impossible.
Under the initiative by the founder trustee of the Lodhie Foundation, the solar lantern was gifted to each student. These aren't just lanterns; they represent a lifeline to education, a chance to chase dreams that might have otherwise been hidden in the darkness.
The warm glow of the lanterns illuminates not just the students' books, but their ambition and determination. They can finally catch up on lessons, complete homework, and explore the exciting world of knowledge, all without the limitations of nightfall. But the Lodhie Foundation's commitment goes beyond a quick fix. Recognising the village's bigger challenge – the lack of a proper school building – the organisation decided to help build one! This is a long-term investment in the education and well-being of the entire Rapoka community.
The foundation believes in the power of collaboration
Pervaiz Lodhie has generously offered to cover 50% of the construction costs. The remaining 50% will come from the community itself. This isn't just about handing out resources; it's about fostering a sense of ownership and partnership. The community will take pride in their new school, ensuring it's well-maintained and cherished. This collaborative approach strengthens the bond between the Foundation and the village, building a foundation for long-term progress.
