EMPOWERING EDUCATION THROUGH SOLAR LIGHT
The National Commission for Human Development (NCHD), in collaboration with the Human Development Support Unit (HDSU) Sargodha, inaugurated the Enrollment Campaign 2018 and launched new Adult Literacy Centers in Sargodha. These centers are designed to bring education to nomadic women who have long been excluded from formal learning opportunities.
In addition to enrollment, learners at the literacy centers received Solar LED Lights. For nomadic women, these lights are more than gifts—they are tools of empowerment. They enable study after sunset, reduce reliance on costly or unsafe energy sources, and symbolize the light of knowledge entering communities that have long lived in darkness.

AFHD’s Perspective
At AFHD, we believe initiatives like these are vital for sustainable human development. Literacy opens doors to participation in society, while solar-powered solutions ensure that learning continues beyond daylight hours. Together, they create pathways for women to uplift themselves, their families, and their communities.
